True That! is a real-time fact-check tool for iPhone and Apple Watch, operated by SignalCue ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

The one thing to know: True That! gives you AI-generated assessments — what public sources say about a claim, with a confidence level. It does not deliver verdicts of fact. Results can be incomplete or wrong, especially for breaking news. Always verify anything important yourself.

1. Eligibility

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your location and able to agree to these Terms.

2. What the app is — and is not

True That! uses artificial intelligence and automated web retrieval to surface what public sources say about spoken claims you choose to check. It does not provide statements of fact, professional advice, or a definitive ruling on whether something is true or false. Every result is an AI-generated assessment that may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or missing context. You are solely responsible for how you interpret and act on any result.

3. Not professional advice

Nothing in the app is legal, medical, financial, electoral, safety, or other professional advice. Do not rely on it as such.

4. AI-generated content

Results are produced by machine-learning models and third-party search, without human review of each result. Model outputs are probabilistic and can be wrong even when stated with apparent confidence; the confidence indicator is an estimate, not a guarantee. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any result.

5. Acceptable use

You will not use the app to harass, defame, or mislead any person; to make automated decisions about a person's rights, employment, credit, or safety; or to violate any law. You are responsible for complying with all laws on recording and consent where you are. The app transcribes on your device and does not retain audio (see our Privacy Policy), but the choice to capture a conversation is yours.

6. Your responsibility for results

You agree not to present any result as an established fact or as our statement about any person or organization. Results reflect what cited sources reported, not our own factual conclusions.

7. Subscriptions & purchases

Paid plans and one-time check packs are sold through the Apple App Store and managed by Apple. Billing, renewal, and refunds follow Apple's terms; manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account. Free cache hits (claims already checked) are always free and never counted against your allowance.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its original content are ours. Cited sources and their material belong to their respective publishers; we attribute, and make no claim to, that material.

9. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON A RESULT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the app or your violation of these Terms or of any law, including recording and consent laws.

12. Changes

We may update the app and these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by applicable law, and disputes will be resolved as set out here.
